Dear All,

The application for the City of Albany to expand the dump in the Pine
Bush appears to be quite active.

Two meetings we MUST attend:

Monday, June 2, 7:00 PM, Albany City Hall, second floor: Albany
Common Council meeting. The Council will vote to rescind bonding for
the landfill expansion due (see http://www.calsolaro.net/) - I
believe - to the fact that since the landfill expansion has not been
approved by DEC the City is afraid they will be sued. We need to
attend this meeting and speak at 7:00 and ask the Council to do what
it should have done two years ago, hold public hearings on what to do
with the garbage and developing a rational solid waste plan. Also, I
believe the Honorable Dominick Calsolaro will speak out about the
landfill situation, and we need to be there to support him.

Wednesday, June 1, 6:15 PM, Albany City Hall, second floor: Meeting
of the General Services, Health, and the Environment Common Council
Committee: A meeting to update us on the landfill situation and a
discussion of the 20 year solid waste plan (see attached agenda
below). If you can't make any other meetings in June, you MUST come
to this one!

Thanks!

Lynne Jackson
