ALBANY, NY — Save the Pine Bush is pleased to announce that Karina
Franke, Karner Blue “Kampaign” Manager for Karner Kids will speak at
the next Save the Pine Bush vegetarian lasagna dinner on Wednesday,
November 14. Dinner starts at 6:00, the presentation at 7:00.

Karina Franke is on a mission to make the Karner Blue the New York
State Butterfly. After visiting the Albany Pine Bush Discovery
Center, she decided that the Karner Blue should be the New York State
butterfly and has been working to make that happen. Find out the
“Karner Kids Kampaign” and meet this young dynamo, who is only nine
years old!
“It is not every day that a 9-year old takes up a state-wide
campaign,” said Lynne Jackson, volunteer with Save the Pine Bush. “We
are delighted that Karina, who is in forth grade, knows the
importance of protecting the endangered Karner Blue. We think many
elected officials (especially in Clifton Park) could learn a lot
about importance of protecting our endangered species from Ms. Franke.”

Ms. Franke will be available to speak to the press beginning at 6:00
PM. The public is invited to attend the dinner. The cost for dinner
is $10 for adults, $5 for students and $2 for children. People are
welcome to attend the presentation at 7:00 for no charge. The dinner
will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, corner of State and
Willett Streets in Albany, New York. Enter on the State Street side
of the church.
