[Announce] Lights: CFL recycling - DEC site

  I really wasn't joking when I suggested you contact the Recycling Specialist at Albany Dept. of General Services. They are the contact that is listed on the DEC's site for this area. I was directed to the DEC's site through a link on the EPA's site.
   
  The nearest of those recyclers of CFLs listed on DEC's website is the Fishkill outfit and then the Port Chester outfit.
   
  Here's the number listed for the Recycling Specialist for our area  869-3651.  
   
  Have you called them as I and the DEC have suggested?

  This is the address that DEC also has listed for the Recycling Specialist.
   
  Hazardous waste, including mercury is forbidden by law to be accepted at the Rapp Road Landfill.

   I have a CFL sitting next to my computer - it failed, and I have to do something with it that is NOT tossing it in the "trash."  And if it breaks, that would be a bad thing...
   
  Great that industry and state gov't are required to recycle their fluorescents - now for households...
